Fourteen people are facing charges after an illegal racing operation was raided in Weslaco. Police say 13 adults and one young person were arrested Thursday in the parking lot of a shopping center on Westgate Drive. They face charges ranging from reckless driving to racing on a public highway. The police also issued 22 citations in connection with the raid. The chief of police says Thursday's action is part of a crackdown on illegal racing that will include seizing the vehicles of those caught and arrested.
